Search Engines Sending You on a False Lead to Article?

More and more frequently you may find links to the full-text of journal articles in your search results from commercial search engines such as Google, Google Scholar, and Yahoo. Following these links may lead to error messages telling you that you do not have access to this title. How can you work around this?

When you follow that link to the full-text of a journal article, you may not be recognized as an authorized UW subscriber. One solution is to place the UW http://Libraries Proxy Bookmarklet your favorites or bookmarks so that you can use it once you receive the error message and log in as UW, thus re-entering proxy space. Another solution is to make note of the reference and go to the Healthlinks eJournals page and search for the journal directly.
