UW Libraries Closed Sept 4, 2006

All UW Libraries, including HSL, will be closed on Monday, Sept 4, 2006 in recognition of the Labor Day holiday. All electronic resources (with the exception of the UW Libraries Catalog - see below) will continue to be available. The Libraries will reopen on Tuesday, Sept 5, 2006.

UW Libraries Catalog Down for Maintenance

On Monday, 4 September 2006, the Libraries Catalog will be down from 6 am to 2 pm PDT for scheduled maintenance.

• PubMed will not be affected but links to ejournals from other databases will not work during this time.
• The Search Journal Titles in the UW Libraries Catalog will not function during this time
• Summit can be used to identify materials but you will not be able to request items or manage past requests.
• You may still request copies of articles through Document Services for a fee.

HSL Closed Aug 24, 2006

The Health Sciences Library will be closed on Thursday, August 24, 2006 for its annual maintenance day. All electronic resources will remain available. HSL will reopen at 7:30 am, Friday, August 25th.

HSL Changes Loan Period to 4 weeks

On Wednesday, August 23, 2006, HSL will change its book loan period from 2 weeks to 4 weeks.

What does this mean to you? 

• Check a book out  from HSL - you get it  for 4 weeks
• Unlimited renewals UNLESS someone places a hold on the item after you check it out

Items checked out before Aug 23rd will still circulate for only 2 weeks  and be subject to a maximum of 3 renewals before they must be returned.  At that time,  they can be checked out under the new policy.

Summit Catalog Down for Maintenance

The Summit catalog for regional libraries will be unavailable on Tuesday, August 15 from 8am to noon PDT due to scheduled maintenance.
